What we have been learning in math all the way from the beginning of the year till now is all helping us, and this concept will help us further down the road

If the two denominators don't share any common factor, then you multiply them together and the answer is your denominator.

Unknown said...

Make sure to check your work when you multiply the unlike denominators.

Anything that we are learning in math, can be applied to our daily lives.

Robyn Leanne said...

We can use the concept that we learned from least common multiple and apply it to this.

If you just slow down and use his formula, then it makes it so much easier.

The system for doing problems with unlike denominators in addition is exactly the same for subtraction.

Tim Michaelis said...

There is a way to do everything in math, a system, so that it is easier for us.

Be sure that you check which common factor the denominators both share before multiplying together.

Unknown said...

This will be easy if you write out the steps and follow the systems.

When your learning in school if you pay attention you will realize that what Mrs. Hicks is teaching us will tie into what we are doing at home.

Whatever you do to the denominator you do the same to the numerator.

There are systems for everything you do, and in math if you follow the system it will make things a lot easier.

To get a a common denominator all you need to do is multiply both the denominators together.

Once you have a common denominator the problem becomes very simple.

In order to add a fraction you have to find a common denominator.

if the two denominators do not have common number you find the least common multiple on the two numbers.

Always make sure the fractions have the same denominator.

Some of us, like me, might think its hard to make a common denominator, but all you have to do is multiply.

One thing you can do to help you remember your fractions is to write the problem out before he says it and try to do it before. You can get lots of help on this, and any of your math.

A faster way to find the same denominator is multiply the denominators, then from there add or subtract.

Many math problems use systems to get the right answer so if you use the right system every time, you will get the correct answer.
